my demons have returned

The fasting month is finally over. It's time to relax and enjoy Raya as much as possible before returning to 3 weeks of the hell known as class right before facing the final exams without a study week. But before that, I'd just like to flash-back on some events that happened this fasting month...

bizarre, oh bizarre
Having been to section 7, 13 and 18's bizarres, I think the best one was section 18. I don't know why, coz it wasn't as big as Section 13's, and it was very crowded. Maybe it was because I went with my mama Anis. My favourite one will always be at Section 7 with the abang murtabak yang betul2 memahami maksud xmo bawang, the kueh seller that has 17 children and went through 7 years of perilous education without producing any results, and of course the roti john yang sedap itu.

eXuberance
It was a very stressful 2 weeks for all of us (well mainly just for Paan, Ohm and Reen but I tried to help where I could), but finally after sleepless nights (again just Paan, Ohm and Reen) we (they, well I'd like to think we) produced an eXuberance that I could say that I was proud to be a part of. I think it'll make its debut at Pekan Syawal, so stay tuned. Well of course I couldn't talk about eXuberance without mentioning the journey to Puncak Perdana, which brings us to the next topic:

Puncak Perdana
It was a Thursday. After pestering Yana to go to my house (which was of course an adventure in its own right as we missed the junction once and almost missed it again. 3 navigators does not equal not getting lost) so that I could go get my shoes, (which I made a personal record of going up 4 floors, unlocking that damned grill, putting my shoes on, locking that damned grill and going down the same 4 floors all in 5 minutes on a fasting day) we finally started our journey to Puncak. We arrived full of spirit raring to go, but the Puncakies weren't even ready yet. I was a little nervous at first not knowing what to expect, but right at that moment I knew that I was "somewhat" at home. We took a lot of pictures where there were more pictures of us then there was of them, and returned right in time to receive our much awaited CRG 530 results (yes, xfail!).

eXuberance pic day
This was a fun one. Poor Mr blue car, getting "noda"ed like that. While the important people were busily dicussing how to get the best picture, I just spent most of my time taking pictures of myself jumping around like an idiot. The pics looked cool though. Ended the day breaking fast at padang kat dataran shah alam, with Yana, Meira and 2 mcD burgers.

"Ei gatal la, banyak nyamuk."
"Ko memang gatal" XP

Raya Shoppin
I got my sweater back and got myself some Adidas Jawpaws. Life is good.

Life shouldn't be like that but it is.
Selamat Hari Raya to all"

Stay noted for the open house edition...

go faster like a monkey that doesn't eat and withholds itself from all worldly desires

There are a lot of bad ways to start the fasting month, but having a common test at the beginning tops the list (especially if one of the tests wasn't really that common AIS *ehem**ehem*).

-testy, testy-

How was the test, you ask? Well according to my mother's words "Nyampah tol kat Ame, asal tanye pasal test je mesti cakap susa gile. Dira pon same jee (well what can I say, she learned from the best)". I couldn't have put it better in my own words.

Going to the bizzare (how Huril spells it anyway :P) is a really enriching experience. The food there is well, food but in this month even thrash can sometimes smell like rendang (haha nampak sangat da xbetol da aritu).

-theory of a faster-

It is assumed that almost all the food at the bizarre is delicious because they each smell like a peace of heaven. And that assumption will carry on right until you take the second bite as again, the first bite you take after a hard day of fasting (consisting of sleeping, going online and watching cartoons) will taste like it was not made by a human. The second bite you take, however will reveal the true taste and that... (I guess I'll stop there)

-sisterhood-

Broke fast with my sister twice already (haha ayat gile bodo). The second time around I brought two of my favouritest people in the world Meo and NisaA (Dewa was outstation haha). Having them all together at one table showed me something. You know the saying 3 out of 4 of your friends are crazy? Well then if that's true, I guess I'm the normal one. Or was it 1 out of 4. I guess it doesn't matter as being crazy nowadays is a good thing. Normal is boring. Me? I'm just bored.

-human limits-

Dewa has been jogging twice while fasting, which is amazing. I can't even walk up the faculty stairs without getting exhausted. His motivation? No exercise, no food. WOW...

The fasting month really brings out traits in people that you never thought existed before. The noisy become quiet, the active go into hibernation and people who looked busy before now look like they have nothing to do. But some things never change...

-sisters of a money lender-

Followed an AFTAS outing where I met Liyana's sisters (I don't remember their names...). It was just like any other AFTASy outing (not like I've been to much of those) but something one of her sisters asked her really made me think about the presence I bring upon other people.

"Camne ko boleh tahan ngan die?"

I don't think I wanna know the answer...

neverending night deserves neverending blog

Wednesday: A day of relaxation, where Ame has only 1 class in the morning and spends the rest of the day going somewhere to enjoy himself and ending it with a long2 nap.

Last Wednesday: A day that can't be symbolized by just 1 sentence.

-early morning-

Got up like usual, remembered to bring the new tax textbook that Cik Yana borrowed from the lecturer (those things change every year, I just bought mine last semester and it's already outdated)

-morning-

Arrived at UiTM, only to be halaued by the pakrking guard to Padang Kawat. Malas nak layan so just went there and arrived at the cafe a little bit later than usual but still had time for breakfast. "Bersesak2" on the lift and arrived at class just in time... to see that all my favourite seats (the ones at the back) had been taken. So, looked at the seats in front of them.

"Eh, ade kosong lak sebla Nini, oh shit Meo da amek."

The lecturer was already in class, and I was still looking for a place to sit. Looked around for a while and saw an empty seat... right in front of the class beside Maza (Serteng, Serteng). So I had no choice but to sit there. Apparently sitting in front does give an impact on performance. That was one of my most productive classes ever, I even went in front and presented my answer on the whiteboard. (To those who doubt this or just think I'm blatantly lying, there are pictures with Paan. Maybe I'll ask for them later) Will I ever sit in front again? If given a choice, no. I enjoy being lazy at the back.

-mid morning-

"Wey jomla wat tax"

So I followed Cik Yana around looking for a place where we could do our "sort of" assignment.

"Jom gi bilik AFTAS"

The room of the AFTAS committee, where the AFTAS committee reside when they have no classes whuu whuu. Well I didn't have time to be picky, so I just followed her. Spent the next 2 hours or so trying to find the answers while being bothered by some people looking for balls, forms and some other stuff.

-afternoon-

Went to class, it was a Bel replacement class.

"wuu AFTAS gilee. Duduk bilik AFTAS"

News travels fast here. Especially mine apparently.

"Diamla budak Rumah Bakti Jalan Ambar"

This continued for the rest of the class, while poking Nadia with my car keys and listening to my classmates talking about stuff that had an impact on them. Lini talked about Lina, Cik Yana talked about... well something, Esah talked about her journey to greatness and I don't remember the rest.

"Gi pinjam Prof nye Gold Card, le kite gi mlantak"

My parting words to Nisa while I tried to print my assignment at the Bel lab. Someone (I don't remember who) used the last piece of paper.

"Aargh kertas da abes"

"Xpe, aku ade lagi 3 keping. Tapi untuk aku, Dila ngan Meo jela. Ko xde."

Apparently, this had a large impact on me.

"Alaa Ame aku main2 jela. Jangan la merajok"

-after class-

"Wey jom gi makan"

"Xle la aku nak gi Domino"

"Camtu xnak la anta ko gi Padang Kawat"

"Yelaa, aku gi sniri la"

"Tengok majok lagi, emo gile ko"

After much begging and kate2 menyayat hati, finally Nazlin sent me to my car. Rushed home with Meo, teman him buy his lunch, and then waited for Nisa. Spent the next 3 hours or so eating and laughing at other people.

-start of the evening-

Nisa got a call from Esah.

"Esah ajak tengok movie, jomlaa"

After much more begging and kate2 menyayat hati, I agreed to come along. Rushed upstairs, took a bath and rushed back down where Aimran was already waiting for me. Turned on his CD player and sang all the way to Paan's house. Picked up Paan and sang all the way to Esah's house. Esah said to be at her house before 5.30, and it was already nearing 6.00 so Aimran was like cuak sikit.

"Ish cakap 5 stenga, nape ko lak yang lembab" (haha Esah will probably kill me for this)

"Carik kunci laa"

So we started our journey to Aeon Tall Hill and suddenly got a call. Nadia's car was agak sesat and they were asking Aimran for directions. Apparently everone who knew how to get there was in this car. Nadia started getting lost before even leaving Shah Alam (she missed the exit to the highway).

"Bia betol Nisa tu cousin Reza Salleh. Nak jadi besfren baru die la"

Paan was really excited, as he was planning to see Reza Salleh at an event in Shah Alam on Saturday. Aimran was trying to join in, but he didn't have a clue who Reza Salleh was. I think I was choking to death with carbon monoxide because Aimran was cucuking a lorry.

-the evening-

We arrived and were met by the people in Nadia's car in front of the cinema.

"Nisa, bia tol ko cousin Reza Salleh"

That continued for quite a while, with Paan and Aimran trying to mengenyeh2 with Nisa, it was amusing as Aimran still didn't know who Reza Salleh was.

"Kite nak tengok wayang ape ni?"

Collectively, we've seen every movie that was being played. So, we compromised and decided on Skrip 7707 since Nisa said she slept though it halfway. Esah bought the tickets and we were on our way.

"Tengok crite Mlayu ngan Nadia mesti suwey"

But as with all things in life, everyone deserves a second chance.

"Wey orang lain pegang tiket wayang, aku ni xbertanggongjawab"

"Tapi duit lebe ko leh pegang lak, Esah"

-before the movie-

The movie was at 9.20, so we had like 2 hours to kill. We started by going to the food court as Paan and Aimran hadn't eaten lunch yet. Esah decided to buy all the drinks as she was holding the money.

"Coke besar, 2 air tebu, 2 air gavawa, 2 air soya, 2 air oren"

I think it was like that, Esah repeated it so many times while trying to remember our orders.

"Eei, meja ni bau telor. Jom pindah"

"Mane le pindah, nanti kawen banyak"

"Seronok pe kawen banyak"

"Tapi meja lain pon bau telor gak. Mesti kain lap die"

Mystery solved by Dila. After that we went window shopping, and Esah bought a necklace with a horse shaped pendant,

"Yang lame nye putus mase menari time Pesawat nyanyi"

only to regret it later as she saw a prettier one that was cheaper. Something everyone has experienced at least once in their life. Somehow between the shopping, the laughing and the walking we got split up into 2 groups. I was with Nisa, Aimran and Anis and Paan and Nadia was with the others. We decided to meet up at Jusco's tempat main game.

"Jomla naik lif, cepat sikit"

"Nak tekan butang mane?"

"Atas sekali la kan?"

So we arrived at level 4 and the doors opened right into a dark floor with a metal door right in front of us. I screamed every obscenity I could think of, which made the others laugh their hearts out. Then we tried a lower floor and the door opened right into the parking lot. Finally we were at the arcade (if it could be called an arcade) and I decided to look at the toys section. I was about to arrive at the Ben 10 section when Nisa called me and said that the others were waiting for me.

"Ko betol2 takot ke tadi?"

"Abes ko ingat aku menjerit saje2 ke?"

Nisa just smiled and we arrived at the arcade just in time to see Esah lose to Dila in a horse race. Maybe Esah just doesn't have enough luck when it comes to horses.

"Aku menang ngan Aimran 8-3"

Then they played the crocodile hitting game with 6 hands and 2 hammers. And still lost. Esah just doesn't have any luck when it comes to animals.

-9.20 pm-

We went to the toilet before going into the cinema.

"Ok, nanti sume da kua kite nyorok dari Nazlin taw"

"Cpat2, nyorok. Lari"

"Wey, Paan mane?"

"Ha tu die cpat la nyorok"

By the time we wanted to run away, Nazlin already saw us. We shuffled the tickets to give a little suspence and entered the cinema... where there were people already sitting on our seats. Anis and Paan were already prepared to go into battle mode when Dila realized something very important. The tickets were for the 7.20 movie. We were all confused. Almost everyone wanted to do the right thing and leave but nobody dared to. Then Nadia made the right choice. Skema badut gile. So Esah made a new plan. We would just sit in the front of the cinema, nobody sits there, right?

"Ingat taw, klo ade orang duduk sini cakap eh silap tempat la. Kite dok depan lagi"

So we sat at like the third row from the front, waiting for the movie to start. Anis wanted to move a row to the back. Luckily we didn't as right before the movie started, some guys entered and sat there.

"Ame, meh aku pegang popcorn. Ko ni dala panakot nanti mesti terpelanting sume"

She was right so i gave her the popcorn. Right in the middle of the movie, maybe a stray gust of wind entered the cinema, or a phone vibrated and the vibrations went straight to her hand (i could give a lot of other theories) suddenly all of the popcorn suddenly flew up into the air and landed on the floor.

"Ade popcorn lagi tak?"

"Ade 1 je lagi"

And then she ate it. I couldn't put my feet on the floor as there was popcorn everywhere. The movie was OKish, Nadia, Esah and I were screaming like crazy, Paan was slightly scared and the others were just laughing.

-after the movie-

"Gaya bersahaja yang melambangkan individualiti, tapi masih dalam keadaan berdiri tegak"

Esah was trying to show off her photo taking skills, which was very confusing. In the time it took Paan to take a whole album of photos, Esah was still hadn't taken the picture yet.

"Tapi gaye die da kalahkan professional photographer"

Then it was time to go home. I arrived at the front door only to discover that Dewa had locked it from the inside. Luckily he was still awake opened the door for me. Then Cik Yana called me,

"Wey ko taw x resume untuk big 4 kne anta by sok"

The night might have ended, but my day wasn't over yet. Well, that's another story i guess.

"horseshoes supposedly bring luck. Horses apparently don't"

some love no sex just magic whoo

I've made it a routine to go "berjalan-jalan" with my sister every friday afternoon. (although we've only succeed just once). SO, last Thursday I sent her a message reminding her. A while later, she replied.

plit plit, plit plit (this is not my real sms tone)
Esok kitorang nak g tgk heri pote. Ada one seat kosong. Nak?

Ah, Harry Potter. Harryyyy Potterrrrrrrrrr. On a Friday afternoon. I didn't 'get' Harry Potter. I knew that it was a worldwide phenomenon or something like that, but I've never really learned to appreciate it. Well there's a first time for everything, I thought to myself. But that first time is not right now. So i declined politely. Then, she said,

"Alaa, Dira blanje tiket."

This changed everything. Combined with her constant "abang gi an?"s and "jomla gi"s, and the fact that I didn't have to pay for anything, it'd be stupid if I didn't go. Or so I thought. But I didn't say anything conclusive yet, just that I'd go if i had nothing else to do.

Friday morning passed uneventfully. Oh yeah something did happen, but that's another story. The only noteworthy event worth mentioning was Ceti "bisenging" about how I was going alone, and not even asking her if she wanted to come. Classes finally ended and as I was leaving UiTM alone, when my sis sent me another message.

"Ada kwn abg nak ikut tak? Hehe. Another empty seat."

Damn it she didn't fall for the 'if I didn't have other plans' escape. Of course she already knew I didn't have anything else to do, who doesn't?

Since she assumed that I was going, I had no other choice but to find someone else. Hmm, Meo was out for lunch and I didn't know if he had other plans for the day. So although Ceti wasn't serious about her offer, she was the first person that I could think of.

"Alaa, malu la ngan adik ko :P"

That left me back to square one. Haha, if I was in her shoes, I'd say no too. I had no one else to turn to, so I turned to the ever faithful NisaA. Being the ever faithful NisaA, she agreed.

So I called my sis to confirm that she did, infact, have 1 extra ticket. It turns out her friend had to bail out at the last minute because of a replacement class on Friday afternoon. Well who ever you are, my condolences to you. We've all been there, some much more frequently than others. Then, she said,

"Alaa, xde teksi lak"

It was common knowledge that there were next to no taxis at this time since most, if not all taxi drivers were male. So, being the awesome brother that I am, I picked her up and sent her to King's hill Jusco.

About an hour passed, and after the Friday prayer NisaA came and picked me up. We arrived at King's Hill and realized that it was just 2.30 and the movie started at 3.45. So we walked, walked, sat down, and walked some more. For an hour. Then we met up my sis and her motley crew and entered the cinema. After brief introductions "Name die Nisa" "Hai Nisa", NisaA thought she saw someone familiar. As soon as she muttered that person's name, that person turned around. Maryam. Of all the people, all the places bla bla bla... Of course, the first thing that came out of her mouth was,

"Korang berdue je ke?"
"Eh xla, tu my sis"

Who could guess that Maryam was a Harry Potter fan. This was just fanning the flames of my Harry Potter unenthusiasm. So I guessed another brief introduction was in order,

"Name die Maryam" "Hai Maryam"

Then I realized that Maryam had something that we didn't have. Drinks. And popcorn. So my sis went to buy some, and the movie started. Ooo such a mystical opening. So this is Harry Potter, I thought to myself. Then the movie started.

"Wei Nisa, aku xpaham"
"Aku pon"

Then I felt like I wanted to pee. But I decided to hold it in as not to miss and important plot events (not that I could tell if they were important or not), so then the movie ended. Oh false alarm. 2 hours passed, and I was bored to death. Trying not to fall asleep, while making sure that NisaA didn't fall asleep, while "menahan kencing" felt easy compared to the challenge of trying to understand the Movie that was Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince.

The movie finally ended, and I left with a headache. It'd been such a long time since I came here, I forgot that the air condition was unforgiving. So I sent my sis back, had dinner and slept for 14 hours.

My feelings towards Harry Potter haven't changed. I did learn a few things, however:
- magic cupboards can eat apples.
- Dumbledore's beard is very long
- Wizards and witches have never gone to the dentist

A scene in the movie did make me scream like a little girl, so it wasn't a total loss.
My sister's parting words,

"minggu depan nak gi tengok ape lak"

They say that it's not the where or the what that matters, it's who you do it with. Well, if I was watching Harry Potter with Emma Watson, I guess I could learn to enjoy it...

over complicated

Water : the element that brings life

Maintainence :the element that brings water to my house

It all started with a call from Romeo 2 weeks ago
"wei justice paip kite kne kunci doh"
"abes cane nak mandi wei?"
"die xtutop abes la le pakai lagi"

So I returned to Shah Alam not knowing what to expect. It wasn't as bad as I expected, however. The water was still running, albeit slower than usual. But it was still "running", unlike someone elses house when their pipe got locked *ehem* *ehem*

It was entertaining for a couple of days, with all the screaming
"wei justice tutop air, aku nak isi cerek"
"wei tutop air, aku nak basoh tangan jap"
Well you see, the water was barely there so we couldn't turn on both taps at a time.

So, we decided we had enough of the "pipe sharing" so we Dewa made a call to the owner, expecting to find someone that we could blame. Her reaction,
"kepale bapak die, aku da bayar da"
That left us even more confused than before. So, we looked at both of the maintainence bills. Wait, there were 2? Yeah, and both of them were addressed to us.

So the next relevant step was to go see the owner to find out why we had 2 bills. We went to sek 10 and got lost on the way.
"mane jalan sari eh?"
"tataw, tu jalan teluk belanga, so mst la dekat2 sini gak"
"eh, ni jalan cekak musang, mane die ni..."
Then we found it, but we didn't find the house. After wandering around aimlessly for a while, we finally called the owner and asked for directions. We discussed it and it was decided that we would go to PKNS ourselves.

It was a rainy Wednesday morning. After class, we began our journey. We "hereted" a person "yang cukup bepengalaman ngan bab2 paip kene kunci ni". Lets just say for safety reasons, I won't mention her name. Haha.
"Die kat tingkat 5 doh"
So, with Dewa's instructions we went to PKNS in the hope of reclaiming the water that was rightfully ours. We arrived and went on the lift.
"Eh nape sampai tingkat 4 je, bia tol?"
"Tataw, agaknye maksod Dewa tingkat atas skali kot."
So we pressed level 4, and when the door opened, we tried to walk out confidently... to the rooftop. So, I called Dewa again,
"Wei bodo, PKNS manede tingkat 5, die sampai tingkat 4 jee"
"Klo camtu tingkat 4 laa"
"Tingkat 4 rooftop la bangang"
We asked for directions at the information counter, or in Meo's words "pusat pertanyaan". It was in level 2. We went to the maze called level 2, and wandered around until we realized that all offices looked exactly the same. So, we asked for directions. AGAIN.
"Hujung sekali, belah kiri"
I wanted to believe that helpful man but judging from what happened before, I was "redha" if there was no left turn at the end of the hall. Luckily there was, so Meo and I went into the office.

We gave the officer our 2+1 bills (one of them was with a receipt, ALSO having our address) and he was just as confused as we were. We were there for quite a while. He checked the bills, rechecked them and made some calls but in the end he was STILL just as confused as we were. Then he made a call, and said that he would unlock our pipe first and we would only have to pay after we knew which bill belonged to our house.

We returned home, hoping to find an unlocked pipe. Yeah, no more "pipe sharing". Well judging from the how the day had gone by, I think you can guess if our pipe has been unlocked.

"why am i not suprised?"

I would love to just blame this on somebody, but everyone we needed to deal with was really nice. So, I can just hope that this get settled soon. But hey, at least the water's still running, right?

2 weeks left

10 days to be exact, damn thought it would be longer than that. Had to count the days on the calender 1 by 1, my brain doesn't seem to work during the holidays (and I like it that way). Hmm seem to have lost my muse ever since results came out, oh well. Just thought I'd share some things that have I've been thinking of these past few days.

H1N1 outbreak in Shah Alam
Well I don't know if can be called an outbreak yet, but after reading the newspapers, asking the ever knowledgable Paan and viewing Fateha's facebook wall post, it seems that it's getting quite serious there. Just hope that it will be over soon, as getting free holidays is always fun but not under these circumstances. Holiday because of epidemic = not fun.

Practical Training (or internship or whatever)
Still haven't done anything yet, I know that they say UiTM does everything but feel guilty for not preparing for everything. Oh well as long as my lazyness>guilt, I'll just leave it to UiTM then.

Registration woes
Well don't wanna say to much about that as I can't do anything about it, I just hope everything will straighten out soon. Too many sudden changes + problematic registration = total confusion

New parking system in UiTM
Well we'll just see how that works. Just hope they have enough busses, or something. I don't know, guess I'll just have to see it for myself and prey to God that it doesn't crumble immediately. Lack of planning = total chaos. At least I'll have a valid excuse for coming late.

Well I think thats all I can remember. I think I'll go back to listening to 6ixth Sense Cinta Yang Sempurna now.

This world is just getting to chaotic, can someone please take me away, even if it's just for a while...

reading

A BOOK
For some it's a gateway to another world, where the only thing needed is imagination
For me it's just something that proves it's worth at exam time, reminding me why I would forgo (I've always wanted to use that word) other important stuff like video games and other fun stuff. Other than that specific moment, it's just a paperweight or something I use to crush cockroaches with.
But starting from right now-ish, that is all gonna change. I hope it is anyway. I will try to take a book, without the intention to kill any cockroaches or to weight any paper, and try to read it.

BUT IT LOOKS SO BORING
That's just the cover. Once you open the book, you will be immersed in a world so wonderful and spectacular, you won't want to leave it.

I'VE TURNED A PAGE, NOTHING'S HAPPENING
Maybe you're just not turning it hard enough. Huh?

MAYBE THE PROBLEM ISN'T ME, IT'S THE BOOK
I love using stupid excuses.

Well the first attempt was a failure, but as they say

"niat tu yang penting"

right? This is not over, I will read a book. Just not right now...
